*** THE BORDERLINER ***
version 1.2 (10/11/2002)

Hello and welcome to "The Borderliner", a new experimental VSTi synth that sounds a bit different. This is a collaboration between Tobias Fleischer alias Tobybear (VST coding) and Richard James Winter alias Blue (interface design) coded especially for the great folks at the Bluelife Audiozone community (http://www.bluelifeaudio.com).

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the Bluelife Audiozone was closed down recently. It was simply too much for Richard to keep the whole
thing running as a one-man-show, especially considering the financial costs and the working time for him. It's sad, but I can
understand him perfectly well. Anyway, consider this synth a "nostalgic" reminder of a very good audio site that is now gone...
By the way: Richard's web design site can be found here: www.bluelife.de

Installation:
To install, just put the DLL in your "vstplugins" folder. The three *.fxb files are 3x16 preset patches, you can put them anywhere you like.

If you don't understand what every little slider and button does, a little description is displayed when you move your mouse over the objects. Furthermore you can click on "help" to see a description of all the sliders.

HERE'S WHAT'S NEW IN 1.2:
 - fixes for Logic 5.1 and Cubase SX
 - performance improvements
 - Pentium 4 bugfix
 - one more example preset bank
 - preset randomizer (click on "The Borderliner")
 - many little crash fixes

HERE'S WHAT'S NEW IN 1.1:
- oscillator basic sound is much better
- no more clicking envelopes
- improved performance due to recompile with Delphi 5
- right clicking on a color box resets its value to 0
- 5 LFO wave forms (can be selected by shift+leftclicking on the LFO destination buttons)
- 3 levels of oscillator interpolation (can be chosen by shift+leftclicking on the FAT (=level 1), PHASE (=level 2 ) and GLIDE (=level 3) buttons
- some small overall bugfixes & speedups
- optional Orion bugfix (*)

(*) about Orion:
Sonic Syndicate's Orion adds a rather wide title bar to every plugin GUI, and to access all these Orion menu options, the GUI has to be at least about 450 pixels wide, which Borderliner is not. Therefore I have built in a special fix for the Orion users that extends the GUI to 450 pixels by adding some black space to the right of the Borderliner GUI. Some older versions of Orion (and probably some older 3rd party licensed ones) do not send correct identification data, so this fix will not work. Therefore either upgrade to the latest Orion, or change the value of the entry "ForceOrionFix" under the registry path "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tobybear\Borderliner" from 0 to 1 to activate a permament fix.

Should you have technical problems with this plugin, please contact Tobybear (tobybear@web.de).
Have fun!
